Overview

The Sales Specialist is responsible for securing business via Distributors and Contractors whilst growing sales and market share in the sales territory. The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate the ability to influence change. The role is hands on and will suit a highly motivated individual who is a self-starter that thrives on challenges.High levels of commercial acumen and strategic thought will be key to your success in the role, as will possessing excellent organizational and planning skills. You will have a keen ability to effectively manage competing priorities whilst successfully growing a highly autonomous sales territory.

Experience in the irrigation industry will be highly regarded. You will also have a demonstrated ability to build rapport, develop strong customer relationships and have a track record of delivering on agreed goals and sales targets. Intermediate/advanced skills with the Microsoft Office, CRM, Data Analysis and English Proficiency will be a plus.

Responsibilities

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and develop the existing customer network within the assigned territory.
  • Increase Rain Bird’s market share in the region by developing/converting new players.
  • Establish and implement strategies to expand product knowledge upselling opportunities in the territory.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and serve as a technical expert for the network.
  • Work closely with the Area Sales Manager to identify and prioritize high-potential customers.
  • Deliver product training, educate irrigation users, and act as an essential member of the Brazil team.
  • Identify and develop new retailers in the region.
  • Follow up merchandising and sales programs.
  • This position requires approximately 50% business travel.
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduation Degree – business or engineering related.
  • At least 5 years sales experience and a proven ability to sell.
  • Strong selling/communication, influencing & problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • High levels of strategic thinking and business acumen.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM (Salesforce), Sales KPI’s.
  • Demonstrated success & experience in B2B sales environments.
  • Ability to travel & spend time in territory including overnight trips.
  • Must reside in the state of São Paulo.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Tech skills on irrigation designs, products and specifications.
  • English proficiency
  • Market knowledge on irrigation industry, agrobusiness and consumer goods.
