Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain APIs using Ruby on Rails
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand API requirements and specifications
• Ensure API performance, scalability, and security
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize API performance

Must Haves

• 3+ years of experience working with Ruby on Rails
• Strong command of API design patterns and best practices in Rails
• Solid understanding of HTTP protocols and JSON data structures
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL)
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a remote setup
• Working hours mostly follow LATAM time zone, with a required 4-hour overlap with Colorado (MDT). For Europe-based candidates, a minimum of 2-hour overlap with MDT is required—more overlap is preferable.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with background job processing (e.g., Sidekiq)
• Familiarity with API documentation tools (Swagger/OpenAPI)
• Exposure to Docker or other container technologies
• Experience working with distributed teams
