Trafigura seeks a highly technical price quant/modelling expert to support Trading and Portfolio teams in Brazil, specialising in weather and climate forecasting, market simulation, and decision-ready insights for trading strategies and risk management.
You will work with NEWAVE/DECOMP models, ENA, and storage data, developing PLD scenarios, automating workflows, and exploring AI applications to improve forecasting accuracy and robustness.
Highly technical price quant/ modelling expert with a strong commercial orientation to support our Trading and Portfolio teams through price market simulation, market intelligence, weather forecast, and all variables that can impact power prices. This role combines deep scientific expertise in price models in Brazil, weather, and climate modelling with hands‑on application to Brazil's power market, deeply and highly knowledge of the price models and all variables that can affect forward prices, decision-ready insights for trading strategy and risk management.
