Job summary

Stack Builders is seeking a collaborative Software Developer to work on backend-focused maintenance and development, ensuring platform reliability and contributing improvements across web and AI workflows. You will collaborate with the client’s engineering team and contribute to practical improvements across our web and AI workflows.

We expect 6+ years of professional software development, strong Java (Maven) and Node.js experience, and full-stack capabilities.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years developing software using Java (Maven) and Node.js.
• Full-stack software development experience across frontend and backend technologies.
• Strong critical thinking when evaluating AI technologies with Generative AI to improve delivery while maintaining quality.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Buildkite.
• Strong written and spoken English for frequent client communication.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain services and web applications using Java, Maven, and Node.js for product demos.
• Contribute to maintenance and component development for the client's web platform.
• Work through backlog items such as technical debt, dependency updates, bug fixes, and supporting tasks for active epics.
• Use Buildkite and CI/CD practices to support reliable builds and delivery.
• Collaborate directly with the client's engineering team, communicate progress and blockers, and manage assigned work independently.
• Contribute to infrastructure changes, web applications, and AI workflow improvements as project priorities require.

Requirements

What we're looking for:

• Full-stack software development experience, with expertise in building production-grade applications across frontend and backend technologies
• Strong critical thinking when evaluating and applying AI technologies, with proven experience using Generative AI to improve software delivery while maintaining engineering quality
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and familiarity with Buildkite are required
• Strong written and spoken English for frequent communication with the client
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to manage work with a high degree of autonomy
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field

Nice-to-have:

• Familiarity with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) is a plus
