Job Overview:

Experienced and dynamic Engineer of Systems & Automation to deploy automation, engineering, and maintenance projects across our plants in LATAM (Brazil, Argentina, Mexico) and USA in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role will be responsible for deploying process improvements, efficiency gain, NPD & manufacturing engineering according to our global strategy and industry 4.0 programs, helping to execute projects, equipment maintenance programs, and ensuring the successful execution of engineering initiatives into the Manufacturing footprint.

The main responsibility is deploying Engineering, Reliability and Automation (ERA) projects in a cross-functional team inside Manufacturing site in LATAM and North America. Projects will range from critical manufacturing projects, productivity projects, technology and robotics, optimization facilities projects, maintenance, and NPD. Additionally, the Engineer will aid in both the accuracy and analysis of project planning and report out progress to the executive leadership team.

Responsibilities:
  1. Leadership and Team Management:
    • Develop synergy between the sites and leverage best practices.
    • Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture.
    • Work with a team of engineers locally and remotely delivering key project KPI’s, applying Good Engineering Practice (GEP) throughout the project life cycle, and deliver on project Scope, Schedule, & Cost in pursuit of execution with excellence.
  2. Project Management:
    • Help site leader and engineering department to apply project management tools from concept to completion.
    • Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets.
    • Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
    • Partner with Manufacturing & Packaging Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain Finance, Brand Marketing & Research, Manufacturing, Engineering and Development teams to execute with tight schedules and deliver consistent Vertical Startup/ Technical Transfer expectations.
  3. Process Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency.
    • Implement best practices to enhance manufacturing processes.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement.
    • Execute the company’s automation master plan as part of Newell Brands strategic vision.
    • Execute company’s reliability master plan.
  4. Budget Management:
    • Monitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  5. Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with other departments, including production, maintenance, and quality, to ensure seamless operations.
    • Work closely with senior management to align engineering initiatives with overall business objectives.
  6. Safety Compliance:
    • Ensure engineering activities comply with safety regulations and guidelines.
    • Implement and promote a strong safety culture within the engineering team.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, automation, or related field.
  • 5+ years experience in Maintenance programs. 2+ years of experience in project management, 2+ years experience with automation and industry 4.0.
  • Experience deploying projects and programs with high complexity and high levels of capital spend.
  • Strong Project Management Capability, Design review, Procurement, Execution.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with manufacturing processes and production planning.
  • Experience in developing and deploying project best practices, policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and project management tools such as Microsoft Project (or other).
  • Ability to effectively communicate up, down and across the organization.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills are required.
  • 50% Travel Required – 5 sites in Brazil, US and International (Mexico, Asia).
