Your role as Regional Dam Safety Manager:
- Responsible for the overall dam safety in Brazil, ensuring compliance with relevant requirements and communication with country-specific dam safety authorities.
- Ensure the quality and development of documents related to the safe operation of dams and catchment areas in South America (Brazil, Chile, and Peru).
- Provide operational support and professional advice to South American countries in the reassessment, rehabilitation, design, and construction of dams and related structures.
- Offer specialized technical support to align with the criteria and guidelines established in Dam Safety Management across South America.
Main Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the South America Dam Safety Group in accordance with P SA SVP’s requirements and instructions.
- Ensure proper follow-up and reporting of the Dam Safety management system.
- Maintain an updated qualitative risk assessment of major risks in the catchments where dams are located.
- Describe and evaluate the dam safety regulation in each country and its implications for Statkraft's assets.
- Engage with relevant country-specific regulatory authorities.
- Train and supervise the Dam Safety Technically Trained Person for regular inspections as per the asset-specific OMS Dam Safety Manual.
- Organize regular training and emergency preparedness drills for managers involved in Dam Safety and emergency management.
- Ensure dam inspections are conducted at appropriate frequencies to assess dam conditions during operation or modifications.
- Prepare annual updates of the country-specific Dam Safety Program and communicate necessary safety measures to maintain dam integrity.
- Serve as the Technical Responsible professional for dams in the country, overseeing the production, revision, and execution of all related documents internally and externally (e.g., ANEEL, CREA).
Your profile:
- Degree in Civil Engineering; a Master’s or PhD in Construction, Geotechnics, Hydraulics, or Hydrology is preferred, with a focus on Dam Engineering and Dam Safety.
- Relevant professional experience in dam design, construction, and project development.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar project software.
- Knowledge of Condition Analysis / RCM.
- Proficiency in Office Suite and MS Project.
- Languages: Advanced English and Portuguese; Spanish is a plus.
