THE ROLE

The position in Regulatory Affairs with responsibility for the Brazil & LATAM region, working closely with the central PS&RA Team in Germany, supporting local/regional initiatives by assessing regulatory conformity of Wella’s cosmetic products’ portfolio against the regulations issued by health authorities such as Brazil ANVISA.

The position reports to the LATAM Regulatory Affairs leader, and receives daily coaching/supervision for Brazil activities from the PS&RA Brazil leader. In this role, the candidate will be responsible to support assessing ingredients, formulas, labels, claims… against relevant regulatory requirements, be the key counterpart of global PS&RA team for specific activities such as raw materials’ review and approvals, safety assessments, support product registrations/notifications, in market audits by health authorities.

The candidate will also support Brazil Regulatory leader in the monitoring of new legislation, and on the integration of Brazil into global PS&RA systems and processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assess formulas, ingredients, labels, and claims against relevant regulatory requirements, with key focus on ANVISA.
  • Support local business teams on regulatory-related matters, falling under the core responsibility of the PS&RA function
  • Support full Brazil integration into global regulatory systems and processes, in alignment with the Brazil PS&RA leader
  • Interface with other local functions as per core PS&RA role and responsibilities
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology, or related fields.
  • Experience in Regulatory Affairs, preferably in cosmetics/beauty or pharmaceuticals/medical devices.
  • Experience in working with health Authorities (such as ANVISA), prove of successful negotiation/issue resolution being a plus.
  • Experience with trade associations/industry consortia would also be a plus High customer and service orientation
  • Fluent English and Spanish (speaking, writing, and reading)
  • Problem solving, ability to sort through complex data with analytical mindset, self-motivating personality, demonstrated problem solving, high level of pragmatism and agility, passion for Regulatory Affairs and willingness to grow as Regulatory professional. As the role involves close interactions with a non collocated global team, the candidate should be able/willing to work with different cultures virtually.
