Job Description

I. Position Overview:

A Britt Aero Quality Engineer will interpret customer requirements and provide quality plans, manufacturing direction, and acceptability criteria to produce conforming parts. Quality Engineers act as a liaison between Britt Aero customers and the manufacturing floor, communicating customer expectations throughout all stages of manufacturing.

II. Responsibilities:

1. Decipher pertinent details and customer requirements from purchase orders, specifications, and drawings, to create manufacturing verification and inspection plans.
2. Work closely with Process Engineers to ensure all customer requirements are established during the manufacturing plan creation.
3. Schedule and manage customer source inspection for product release, including but not limited to, the creation of release documentation as necessary.
4. Identify Root Cause and Corrective Actions during non-conforming product investigation, including customer-initiated investigations.
5. Stop and correct quality problems as they arise, including halting production activities if necessary.
6. Recommend process improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction.

III. Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent in a relevant field. An Associate's degree with 5 or more years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer is considered. Additionally, ten or more years of industry experience as a Manufacturing Engineer are also considered.
2. Experience in the Aerospace Manufacturing Industry is required. Hands-on experience such as machining, programming, inspection, troubleshooting, project management, auditing, etc., is preferred.
3. Must demonstrate excellent communication skills with both customers and team members.
4. Must demonstrate robust planning and organization skills.
5. Must demonstrate excellent time management skills, especially when multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
