Overview
We are looking for a mid-level QA Engineer who’s passionate about delivering high-quality user experiences across mobile and Connected TV (CTV) platforms. You’ll play a hands-on role testing applications across devices like Roku, Apple TV, Fire TV, Samsung, LG, iOS, and Android, ensuring they perform flawlessly. While your focus will be on manual testing and exploratory QA, you’ll also contribute to automation initiatives that strengthen our overall test coverage.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute manual and exploratory testing for CTV and mobile applications, validating functionality, performance, and UI/UX consistency across devices.
- Design, execute, and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and automated test scripts for regression, smoke, and feature testing.
- Support the development and maintenance of automation scripts using tools such as Appium, WebDriverIO, or other frameworks (under guidance from senior QA/automation leads).
- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and designers to ensure requirements are clear and edge cases are identified early.
- Track, log, and verify defects using JIRA or similar tools, ensuring timely resolution and strong communication around impact and priority.
- Participate in test cycle planning and execution, providing QA input during sprint planning and release reviews.
- Validate builds across multiple platforms and OS versions, confirming release readiness.
- Assist in maintaining device labs and organizing test environments for CTV and mobile testing.
- Contribute to ongoing process improvements and automation coverage expansion.
Core Requirements
- 3-6 years of QA experience in software testing within media streaming, CTV, or mobile app environments.
- Hands-on experience testing CTV (Roku, tvOS, Fire TV, Samsung, LG, etc.) and mobile (iOS/Android) platforms.
- Strong understanding of manual testing methodologies and processes, regression testing, and Agile workflows.
- Familiarity with test automation tools such as Appium, WebDriverIO, or Playwright.
- Working knowledge of bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr).
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot performance, playback, and UI/UX issues across platforms.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining product quality.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.
Nice-to-Have
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and release management best practices.
- Exposure or hands on experience on Charles Proxy.
- Exposure to GitHub or similar version control applications.
