Prometeo Talent is seeking a QA Engineer to take ownership of product quality from design through release. You’ll build reliable test automation, improve testing strategies, and ensure quality is integrated throughout the software development lifecycle.

This hands-on role treats test automation as a core engineering practice, with reliability as a release requirement and quality as a shared responsibility across the team. Remote LATAM work is supported.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in software quality engineering or test automation.
• Strong JavaScript and TypeScript skills, including object-oriented design and maintainable test code.
• Hands-on experience building UI test automation with Playwright and API test automation in JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience running and maintaining tests in CI/CD pipelines.
• Advanced English level.

Responsabilités

• Design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks and suites across UI, API, integration, and end-to-end testing. Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines and optimize stability, speed, and maintainability.
• Define testing strategies and plans based on risk, coverage, and release timelines; participate in reviews and establish acceptance criteria; determine automated vs manual tests.
• Perform functional, regression, and exploratory testing; identify, document, and track defects; contribute to performance and security testing; analyze production incidents to prevent recurrence.
• Monitor and report quality metrics, promote testing best practices, mentor engineers, document processes, and recommend continuous improvements to tools and methodologies.

About the role

We’re looking for a QA Engineer to take ownership of product quality from design through release. You’ll play a key role in building reliable test automation, improving testing strategies, and ensuring quality is integrated throughout the software development lifecycle.

This is a hands‑on engineering role for someone who treats test automation as a core engineering practice, quality as a shared responsibility, and reliability as a release requirement.

What You’ll Do

1. Test automation and engineering

   Design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks and suites across UI, API, integration, and end-to-end testing. Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines and optimize their stability, speed, and maintainability. Build tools and resources that facilitate testing across the team.

2. Strategy and planning
   Define testing strategies and plans based on risk, coverage, and release timelines. Participate in requirements, design, and code reviews, establish acceptance criteria, and determine which tests should be automated versus performed manually.

3. Testing and release quality
   Perform functional, regression, and exploratory testing; identify, document, and track defects. Contribute to performance and security testing, assess quality before releases, and analyze production incidents to prevent recurring issues.

4. Reporting
   Monitor and report quality metrics, including test coverage, defect trends, and pipeline health. Promote testing best practices, mentor engineers, document processes, and recommend continuous improvements to tools and methodologies.

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of experience in software quality engineering, test automation, or software development.

• Strong JavaScript and TypeScript skills, including object-oriented design and maintainable test code.
