What Your Impact Will Be:

As a Project Quality Engineer for Licensing, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring quality and compliance on the branded toys and consumer products sold by licensees throughout LATAM. You will be accountable for:

  1. Evaluating product concepts to determine appropriate requirements and oversight.
  2. Working with licensees and 3rd party laboratories to conduct safety evaluations and provide product specifications to ensure product expectations and requirements are understood and met.
  3. Working with licensees to develop alternative designs where necessary to meet specification and/or safety requirements.
  4. Reviewing and approving test results from licensees and 3rd party laboratories.
  5. Auditing licensees to verify compliance with regulatory requirements, Mattel requirements, and Mattel procedures.
  6. Maintaining awareness and knowledge of local, international, and voluntary regulations, standards and proposals for product safety.
  7. Assisting licensees in monitoring and controlling crucial processes for components critical to the safety of the product.
  8. Traveling (local and international) as needed to licensees, manufacturing facilities, and Mattel offices to support training and product approval process.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in an Engineering related field or equivalent.
  2. 5+ years experience in a similar role.
  3. Fluent in Portuguese, English, and Spanish.
  4. High standard of ethics and personal accountability.
  5. Knowledgeable in quality assurance and defect prevention.
  6. Knowledgeable in regulatory and industry standards, ideally for toys and children’s products worldwide, with an emphasis on Mercosur countries.
  7. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with people at all levels.
  8. Ability to perform in a multi-functional team environment.
  9. Ability to identify problems, suggest viable solutions, and make decisions within the scope of responsibility.
  10. Sound technical and analytical skills.
  11. Good verbal and written communication skills.
