Job description

Siemens Energy and Siemens Gamesa are becoming Omterra. "We energize society" by supporting our customers to make the transition to a more sustainable world, based on innovative technologies and our ability to turn ideas into reality. With nearly 100,000 employees around the world, we shape the energy systems of today and tomorrow.

We are looking for a hands-on Product Integrity Expert with broad technical expertise across the Switchgear (SG) product range, including AIS, GIS, Live-Tank and Dead-Tank Circuit Breakers, Instrument Transformers, Bus Systems, Insulation and Gas Systems, Mechanical Assemblies, Control Wiring and Protection Interfaces, and Interlocks.

The role supports switchgear factories across America, Asia, and Europe in addressing critical quality issues through structured problem solving, root cause analysis, and disciplined follow-up from containment to closure. It combines hands-on factory support with quality governance, reporting, training, and cross-factory collaboration to strengthen quality risk visibility and systematically deploy lessons learned.

How You’ll Make an Impact:
  • Strengthen and embed the 8D methodology, ensuring disciplined execution from containment through effective D8 closure.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert in root cause analysis and structured problem solving, including 8D, A3, and DMAIC.
  • Support factory containment, corrective actions, recovery plans, and effectiveness verification for significant quality issues.
  • Ensure lessons learned and systemic corrective actions are identified and horizontally replicated across applicable factories.
  • Support factory quality performance reviews to identify emerging risks, recurring issues, and improvement opportunities.
  • Drive Quality Issue governance, providing visibility, prioritization, and systematic follow-up of critical quality issues across SG factories.
What You Bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering, quality management, or a related technical field, with experience in Switchgear engineering or manufacturing (AIS or GIS), including associated live-tank or dead-tank circuit breakers.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in medium- and high-voltage Switchgear equipment, or the ability and willingness to further develop hands-on knowledge, including circuit breakers, instrument transformers, bus systems, control wiring and protection interfaces, insulation and gas systems, mechanical assemblies, interlocks, production testing, and common product and process failure modes.
  • Ability to independently interpret and challenge Switchgear engineering drawings, bills of material, product specifications, manufacturing instructions, test procedures, and applicable electrical-equipment standards, and translate technical requirements into effective shopfloor controls.
  • Strong working knowledge of critical-to-quality characteristics, inspection and test controls, traceability, workmanship standards, nonconformance management, and applicable customer, regulatory, and industry requirements.
  • Demonstrated command of TQM, Lean, Six Sigma, FMEA, 8D, statistical methods, and process-capability tools, with a proven record of cross-functional problem solving, organizational change, and coaching; relevant certification is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, communication, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills. Confidence working with manufacturing, quality, and test data and digital dashboards. Fluency in spoken and written English for technical discussions and meetings, and willingness to provide on-site factory support with 30–50% travel.
