Summary

Professional responsible for designing and implementing efficient production systems, as well as monitoring the efficiency of these systems after their implementation. This role combines engineering principles with management aspects, such as strategic planning and production management.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze the balance of production lines, time analysis and identify bottlenecks in processes. Promote technical solutions to remove bottlenecks and improve the production process. Work to solve quality problems, investigate process failures and implement corrective actions.
• Prepares process design documents and deliverables for all phases of projects including Conceptual Designs, Basis of Design, and Detailed Design. Ensures that drawings and designs are in accordance with company production and design standards. Organizes and documents information related to processes, offering support to the team and reporting on the progress of activities.
• Hands on experience with developing PFDs, P&IDs, batch cycle times, equipment/instrument datasheets and specifications, material/people flow layouts, mass and energy balances and develops control logic for operations. Makes calculations, using engineering formulas and skills for process design.
• Lead/facilitate stake holder scope reviews and hazard reviews (HAZOP).
• Collaborate with corporate process and engineering group on projects and provide expertise, guidance, and recommendations on global projects as needed. Develop commissioning plans, startup plan and lead the commissioning/startup effort.
• Participate in innovation and continuous improvement projects, using methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma.
• Monitor performance indicators, such as cycle time, material consumption and rework rate, proposing improvements based on data analysis.
• Provide technical training to plant staff on new product processes, process changes, product chemistry and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to ensure equipment availability and proper functioning.

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduation in Chemical Engineering. Experience in Resin production and Polymerization is desirable.
  • Work experience: Minimum 5 years of experience
  • Language and computing: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), Advanced English and desirable Spanish skills.
