Principal Product Designer — early-stage startup (via Pholio)

We’re helping a killer startup client find their first Principal Product Designer —someone who cares deeply about craft, owns the full product experience, and wants to build something lasting from the ground up.

This is a design-led company : fast-moving, user-obsessed, and sharp about what great digital products feel like. You’ll partner directly with the founders, lead design across the product, and help define a category—visually, functionally, and experientially.

What you’ll do :

• Drive end-to-end product design, from first figjam to shipped feature
• Craft elegant UX flows, polished UI, and expressive, modern visuals
• Collaborate with PM + eng partners like a real owner—not a ticket-taker
• Shape design systems, culture, and quality bar from day one

Who you are :

• Strong product thinker with taste—your work is beautiful and usable
• You’ve designed complex products before, ideally at startups
• Fluent in Figma, fast with feedback, and sharp about design decisions
• You lead with your work, not your title—and you love building
• Have shipped early-stage products or helped 0 → 1 teams grow
• Bring motion, brand, or prototyping skills to the table
• Enjoy a little chaos and want real creative ownership
