Ibis Melbourne Glen Waverley is located 25 minutes east of Melbourne CBD, offering 155 rooms, Ibis Kitchen & Bar, and 4 flexible meeting rooms accommodating 4 to 120 delegates. It serves as a gateway to the Dandenong Ranges, Yarra Valley Food & Wine District, Mornington Peninsula, and Phillip Island.

Ibis Budget Melbourne Airport provides 73 rooms and is situated just 400m from Melbourne Airport, ideal for travelers arriving late or departing early.


Job Description


We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Portfolio Director of Sales & Marketing to craft and execute sales strategies that maximize revenue and market share, lead a high-performing sales team to drive business growth, and elevate the hotel’s presence through innovative marketing initiatives.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will take ownership and follow the planned strategies and objectives.

As a Portfolio Director of Sales & Marketing, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading and managing the Sales and Marketing team to maximize the hotel’s market position, ensuring effective utilization of sales resources.
  • Preparing and administering the hotel’s sales & marketing plan and related budget, integrating strategic planning into daily operations to achieve revenue goals.
  • Managing all sales training, setting yearly sales targets, quotas, incentive plans, and other learning initiatives to maintain effective sales professionals.
  • Staying informed of competitors’ sales and marketing strategies and effectively counteracting to secure maximum business.
  • Developing strategic plans to identify major accounts and business opportunities across market segments to broaden the account base.
  • Ensuring guest service delivery exceeds customer expectations through operational collaboration.
  • Maintaining regular communication with corporate sales and marketing teams and other local hotels, working with Regional DOS&M on synergistic opportunities.
  • Reviewing weekly forecasts and market share reports, actively participating in maintaining business levels and market share.
  • Understanding the hotel’s sales vision, products, services, and rate structure to meet business objectives.

Qualifications


  • Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Business, or Hospitality.
  • Minimum 5+ years of proven Sales & Marketing experience in hospitality; ACCOR experience is advantageous.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong knowledge of local businesses and industry trends.
  • Experience managing costs, budgets, and monitoring reports.
  • Experience developing marketing strategies and setting clear goals.
  • Combining commercial acumen with creativity to maximize opportunities.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, relationship, and networking skills.
  • Passion for hotel operations.
  • Understanding emerging industry trends.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, develop, and inspire teams.
  • Ability to create meaningful connections and build trust with clients, guests, and colleagues.
