Quincy Medical Group is seeking a Phlebotomist to support patient care by performing venipuncture and specimen collection in a safe, accurate, and compassionate manner. You'll work with providers, lab staff, and clinical teams to ensure high-quality specimens for timely diagnostic testing. The role offers a full-time schedule, Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.

Qualificações

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of a phlebotomy training program or equivalent experience.
  • CPR certification preferred or obtainable.
  • National phlebotomy certification preferred but not required.
  • Healthcare or laboratory experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and specimen quality.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsabilidades

  • Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection using safety protocols.
  • Collect, label, process, and prepare blood and other specimens for testing.
  • Verify patient identity and ensure specimen accuracy.
  • Explain specimen collection procedures to patients and maintain a compassionate approach.
  • Monitor patients for adverse reactions during collection.
  • Maintain documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) and LIS.
  • Ensure specimens are handled, stored, and transported correctly.
  • Maintain cleanliness and readiness of collection areas and equipment.
  • Monitor inventory and notify when replenishment is needed.
  • Collaborate with providers and laboratory staff to support timely patient care.
  • Maintain compliance with infection prevention and laboratory safety standards.

About the Role

As a Phlebotomist at Quincy Medical Group, you will play an essential role in supporting patient care by performing blood draws and specimen collection in a safe, accurate, and compassionate manner. Working closely with providers, laboratory staff, and clinical teams, you will help ensure high‑quality specimens are collected for timely and accurate diagnostic testing while creating a positive experience for every patient.

Schedule & Work Environment

Full‑time position, Monday‑Friday, 7:00a.m. – 3:30p.m. Schedule may vary based on departmental needs. Occasional outreach travel may be required. Fast‑paced clinical and laboratory environment with frequent patient interaction.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures using established safety and quality protocols.
  • Collect, label, process, and prepare blood and other specimens for laboratory testing.
  • Verify patient identity and ensure specimen accuracy through proper identification procedures.
  • Explain specimen collection procedures to patients and help create a comfortable, positive experience.
  • Monitor patients for adverse reactions during and after specimen collection.
  • Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record and laboratory information systems.
  • Ensure specimens are handled, stored, and transported according to organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of collection areas and equipment.
  • Monitor inventory of collection supplies and notify appropriate personnel when replenishment is needed.
  • Collaborate with providers, laboratory staff, and clinical teams to support timely patient care.
  • Maintain compliance with infection prevention, OSHA, HIPAA, and laboratory safety standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support laboratory and clinic operations.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Current CPR certification preferred or ability to obtain upon hire.
  • Completion of a phlebotomy training program or previous phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • National phlebotomy certification preferred but not required.
  • Previous healthcare or laboratory experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to specimen quality.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and compassionate while working with patients of all ages.
  • Experience with electronic medical records and laboratory information systems preferred.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining accuracy.

Compensation

The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $16.12 – $24.18 per hour, with actual pay determined by experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
