About the Role
At Quincy Medical Group, the RN/LPN Float provides clinical support across multiple departments and specialty areas, ensuring seamless patient care and operational continuity.
Schedule
Full‑time position, Monday‑Friday, hours scheduled between 7:00AM and 5:00PM. Schedule may vary based on departmental and clinic needs. Eligible for a $1.00 per hour float differential. No holidays, overnight shifts, or routine on‑call requirements.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care and clinical support within scope of licensure across a variety of clinic settings.
- Room patients and obtain accurate vital signs, medical histories, medication information, and visit details.
- Assist providers with examinations, treatments, procedures, and patient care activities.
- Administer medications, injections, immunizations, and treatments in accordance with licensure and organizational policies.
- Coordinate referrals, diagnostic testing, prior authorizations, medication refills, and follow‑up appointments.
- Communicate test results, provider recommendations, and patient education materials.
- Respond to patient phone calls, portal messages, and clinical inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.
- Adapt quickly to varying workflows, providers, patient populations, and specialty areas.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of exam rooms, clinical supplies, and equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support clinic operations.
Qualifications
- Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program required.
- Current CPR certification required.
- Previous clinical nursing experience in an ambulatory, specialty, or physician practice setting preferred.
- Strong assessment, communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing environments and support multiple departments.
- Comfort working independently while collaborating effectively with providers and care teams.
- Experience with electronic medical records preferred.
- Commitment to providing compassionate, patient‑centered care.
Benefits and Compensation
- Base pay range: $18.66–$27.99 per hour for LPNs and $25.00–$37.50 per hour for RNs, with actual pay determined by licensure, skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity.
- Eligible for a $1.00 per hour float differential.
