Outpatient Registered Nurse - RN - Dialysis

This position is responsible for providing and coordinating clinically competent care, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. It involves delegation of tasks to direct patient care staff and participation in decision-making, teaching, leadership, and quality improvement activities as part of the End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD) team.

Responsibilities include:

1. Performing patient assessments and documenting data related to hemodialysis treatments.
2. Providing patient and family education about treatment options.
3. Administering medications and assisting with emergency responses.
4. Leading and mentoring new staff and participating in quality improvement projects.
5. Ensuring proper laboratory procedures and patient safety measures.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

• Heavy lifting, patient mobility assistance, prolonged standing, and equipment handling.
• Potential exposure to infectious materials.

Supervision:

Oversee Patient Care Technicians, LVN/LPNs, and RNs as a Team Leader or Nurse in Charge after meeting experience and training requirements.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current state licensure and CPR/BLS certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience.
