Layer2 is seeking a Network Consulting Engineer – Routing & Switching to join a professional services engagement supporting an enterprise customer in Brazil. This role emphasizes design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise networking solutions with ownership from design through delivery and problem resolution.

Required are 3–6 years of Routing & Switching experience, strong design, troubleshooting, and hands-on exposure to a second technology such as IoT or wireless.

Qualificações

• BSc in Computer Science or equivalent with 3–6 years of relevant work experience.
• Solid hands-on knowledge of Routing & Switching with strong design and troubleshooting expertise.
• Experience delivering enterprise networking projects in customer-facing environments.
• Experience creating and reviewing formal design deliverables (High Level Design, Low Level Design, implementation and change management plans).
• Experience acting as a focal point for problem resolution on complex customer issues.
• Active CCNP certification or higher, with certification names and dates clearly available.
• Professional working proficiency in Portuguese and English.
• Hands-on experience with a second technology, ideally IoT or wireless (WiFi).
• Experience within a professional services or consulting delivery model.
• Scripting and automation skills applied to configuration, deployment, or troubleshooting of network solutions.
• Experience building test environments to validate designs and reproduce complex problems.
• Experience supporting presales and translating business requirements into technical solutions.
• Active additional networking certifications, with certification names and dates clearly available.

Responsabilidades

• Take ownership of task and project implementation for assigned customer engagements.
• Create and review project deliverables, including design recommendations, High Level Design, Low Level Design, and implementation/change management plans.
• Assist customers with the integration and implementation of tools, systems, and service assurance.
• Build and leverage test labs and customer simulations to resolve complex problems and validate compatibility issues.
• Act as the initial focal point for problem resolution, assuring proper and quick resolution of major customer problems.
• Leverage software skills and tools to configure, deploy, and troubleshoot network solutions, contributing to the development of digital intellectual capital such as scripts.
• Support presales activities and translate business requirements into solution design.
• Create and deliver customer collateral, documentation, and knowledge transfer.
• Collaborate with other Consulting Engineers across technology domains and provide technical input to the Sales team.
• Capture and share new implementation techniques, methodologies, and lessons learned with the broader team.

This role requires professional working proficiency in both Portuguese and English, as you will work with local customer teams and international stakeholders.

In this role, you will drive the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise networking solutions, taking ownership of technical delivery from design through implementation and problem resolution.

We are looking for an experienced engineer with strong routing and switching depth, solid design and troubleshooting skills, and hands-on exposure to a second technology such as IoT or wireless.
