Meta Media Buyer | Facebook & Instagram Ads
Remote | Part-Time to Start | Potential for Full-Time | U.S. Business Hours
About the Role
Our client is a fast-growing U.S.-based marketing and growth agency that helps local businesses and performance-driven brands grow through paid media, creative testing, lead generation, and full-funnel marketing strategies.
They are looking for a hands-on Meta Media Buyer who can independently manage and optimize Facebook and Instagram advertising accounts, identify performance issues through data, troubleshoot tracking and funnel problems, and make strategic decisions that improve profitability.
This is not a campaign setup or reporting-only role. The ideal candidate should be comfortable getting into the numbers, diagnosing *why* performance is changing, identifying the root cause, and taking action based on data.
What You'll Do
- Own Meta Ads accounts end-to-end, from campaign setup and tracking checks through ongoing optimization, testing, scaling, and reporting.
- Monitor and analyze key performance metrics including CPA, CPL, ROAS, CTR, CPM, CPC, CVR, frequency, conversion volume, and spend.
- Diagnose performance changes and identify the underlying cause rather than relying on generic testing.
- Analyze whether performance issues are related to creative, audience, campaign structure, placements, landing pages, website experience, checkout/conversion flow, or tracking/attribution.
- Identify and troubleshoot tracking discrepancies between Meta and backend platforms such as Shopify or CRM systems.
- Develop and test creative concepts, hooks, messaging, formats, and angles based on account-level data.
- Identify creative fatigue, audience saturation, increasing frequency, declining CTR, rising CPA, and other performance patterns, and take appropriate action.
- Manage prospecting, retargeting, and full-funnel campaign strategies.
- Build efficient campaign structures and avoid unnecessary fragmentation when budgets or data do not support it.
- Make informed budget allocation and scaling decisions based on performance, profitability, historical data, and business goals.
- Test and optimize audiences, including broad targeting, lookalikes, retargeting, and Meta's Advantage+ solutions when appropriate.
- Investigate and resolve issues such as sudden drops in purchases, changes in spend, CPA spikes, tracking failures, or campaigns disproportionately consuming budget.
- Connect media performance to broader business metrics such as AOV, CAC, LTV, MER, profitability, and contribution margin when relevant.
- Collaborate with creative, strategy, and client teams to translate performance data into actionable recommendations.
- Communicate findings clearly to clients, including what changed, why it changed, what was done, and what the expected impact is.
- Stay current with Meta Ads platform changes, bidding strategies, attribution, automation, and evolving best practices.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of hands-on experience managing Meta Ads for businesses, brands, or agencies.
- Strong, recent experience working directly inside Meta Ads Manager.
- Proven experience independently managing and optimizing multiple accounts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret account-level data and identify root causes.
- Demonstrated experience troubleshooting tracking, attribution, funnel, and conversion issues.
- Strong understanding of creative performance, including creative fatigue, hooks, messaging, formats, and audience/creative fit.
- Strong understanding of campaign structure, audience strategy, retargeting, lookalikes, broad targeting, and Advantage+.
- Experience with both lead generation and/or e-commerce campaigns.
- Ability to make data-driven decisions around budget allocation, scaling, testing, and optimization.
- Understanding of Meta bidding strategies and when different approaches may be appropriate, including Lowest Cost, Cost Cap, and Bid Cap.
- Comfortable working with metrics beyond platform-level ROAS and understanding the relationship between advertising performance and actual business results.
- Strong troubleshooting mindset: you should be able to look at a performance problem and determine what you would check first, what you believe is causing it, and what action you would take.
- Excellent English communication skills and confidence working directly with clients.
- Ability to explain technical performance insights in a clear and practical way.
- Agency experience managing multiple accounts is highly valued.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Shopify, GA4, Google Tag Manager, Triple Whale, Hyros, Looker Studio, Northbeam, or similar tools.
- Experience working with CRM platforms and understanding the relationship between leads, qualified leads, opportunities, and revenue.
- Experience with Google Ads, TikTok Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Pinterest, or other paid media channels.
- Experience working with U.S.-based businesses or agencies.
- Experience with DTC/e-commerce brands and performance-driven local businesses.
- Understanding of incrementality and different attribution models.
- Experience connecting paid media performance to LTV, CAC, MER, margins, and overall profitability.
What Success Looks Like
- Meta accounts are actively monitored, optimized, and scaled based on data rather than assumptions.
- Performance problems are identified early and diagnosed at the account, funnel, creative, audience, or tracking level.
- Campaign structures remain efficient and appropriate for the available budget and data.
- Creative testing produces actionable insights and continuous performance improvements.
- Tracking and attribution issues are identified and resolved quickly.
- Budget is consistently allocated toward the highest-impact opportunities.
- Paid media decisions are connected to actual business outcomes, not just platform metrics.
- Clients receive clear, proactive recommendations and understand what is happening, why it is happening, and what we are doing about it.
