At CSL Vifor, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced medical affairs professional to join our global medical affairs team for our renal rare diseases portfolio.

The position will offer an unique opportunity to launch an innovative orphan medicine in nephrology and you will report to the Global Medical Lead Rare Diseases based in Zurich, Switzerland.

As a Medical Lead Rare Diseases, you will lead and support a team of MSLs.

In addition, you will ensure the development of the medical affairs strategy as well as the operationalization of it in Brazil.

An entrepreneurial spirit combined with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders are important competencies for this role, as you will be part of a global team while still working in collaboration with the Brazilian affiliate.

The role is based in São Paulo.

Your main accountabilities will also include, but are not limited to, the following :

• Drive and lead scientific and medical expertise with the MSLs (TAs and products)
• MSL leadership and coaching : IPDs, Development Plans, best practice sharing, KOL engagement, presentations, co-visits, etc.
• Drive operational excellence of the MSL teams
• Lead skill development in KOL engagement, scientific engagement, market access medical support and other appropriate
• Ensure MSLs support the appropriate number of KOLs aligned to medical strategy
• Lead scientific engagement strategies, Disease State Education, clinical presentations and responses to medical requests (medical information)
• Ensure updates and metric reporting to medical team and, other appropriate internal stakeholders on medical community interactions
• Summarize and share scientific insights from KOL and medical community engagement with appropriate country and global teams
• Ensure appropriate communication and strategy alignment between MSL / medical strategies and country colleagues (sales, market access)
• Lead medical support for KOL advocacy and formulary access within MSL team following global and local policies and procedures
• Lead MSL support and implementation of medical activities (advisory boards, congress symposia, hospital meetings and speaker programs)
• Lead & coordinate company sponsored clinical research and IIS process support within the country
• Lead and coordinate relevant country medical support for scientific meetings and conferences including summaries of key data, presentations, symposium and insights
• Drive multi-channel engagement of external stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with applicable local and global laws, regulations, guidelines and company policies and procedures

The knowledge and skills necessary to perform the duties of this position are typically acquired through the following combination of education, experience and knowledge, or the equivalent.

Minimum Requirements

• University degree in Medical or Life Science Field (e.g. Medicine, Pharmacy, Biology / Biochemistry)
• Minimum of 5 years' experience as MSL / Field Medical within pharmaceutical experience and healthcare compliance requirements locally and globally
• Demonstrated experience in KOL, HCP or medical community engagement
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in Portuguese, experience with digital communication; good oral and written communication skills in English
• Strong track record in KOL engagement
• Experience in public scientific presentations
• Ability for overnight travel, up to 50%

Preferred Requirements

• Medical Education (MD) with relevant clinical experience
• Clinical and / or research experience in Internal Medicine, Nephrology or Cardiology
• 3 years' experience in leading MSL / Field Medical profiles
• Established track record in KOL engagement
• Experience in clinical research and GCP trained
• Experience in literature review and analysis
• Experience in planning and delivering Medical Trainings
• Experience in multi-channel medical communication with an emphasis on digital approaches
