About the Job

Memory Ware is seeking a Level Designer to craft engaging environments for our JRPG-inspired projects. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create levels that enhance narrative, gameplay, and pacing.

Responsibilities

1. Design and block out exterior and interior 3D spaces focusing on layout, flow, and sightlines.
2. Create immersive levels that integrate gameplay mechanics with storytelling.
3. Work closely with art and narrative teams to ensure cohesive game experiences.
4. Utilize Unity and other tools to develop and iterate level designs.
5. Document level designs clearly for team reference.

Qualifications

1. Experience designing exploration, narrative, or tactical game levels.
2. Strong understanding of space, flow, and pacing in game design.
3. Proficiency in Unity for prototyping and iteration.
4. Empathy for player experience and storytelling.
5. Knowledge of JRPG structure, including dungeon and overworld design.

Preferred Skills

1. Experience with turn-based combat space design.
2. Understanding of environmental storytelling and spatial narrative.
3. Technical skills in camera scripting, triggers, or modular assets.
4. Passion for games blending mechanics with emotional storytelling.
