About the Role

Memory Ware is seeking a talented Level Designer to craft immersive environments for our JRPG-inspired projects. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop exploration maps, combat encounters, and narrative set-pieces, ensuring a cohesive and engaging player experience.

Responsibilities

1. Design and block out exterior and interior 3D spaces, optimizing layout, flow, and sightlines.
2. Create engaging levels that integrate gameplay mechanics with narrative elements.
3. Collaborate with art and narrative teams to ensure a cohesive experience.
4. Use Unity and level design tools to develop and iterate on level layouts.
5. Document level designs with clear guidelines for the team.

Qualifications

1. Experience designing levels for exploration, narrative, or tactical gameplay.
2. Strong understanding of space, flow, and pacing.
3. Proficiency in Unity and 3D prototyping.
4. Empathy for player experience, especially in exploration and storytelling.
5. Knowledge of JRPG structure, including dungeon and overworld design.

Preferred Skills

1. Experience with turn-based combat space design.
2. Understanding of environmental storytelling and spatial narrative.
3. Technical skills in camera scripting and modular asset workflows.
4. Passion for games combining mechanical depth with emotional storytelling.
