Job summary

Alibaba is seeking a delivery leader to manage cross-team software programmes, including bank and acquirer integrations and platform migrations. You will own the critical path, coordinate external partners, and ensure release readiness with robust risk controls.

You will drive concise leadership updates, manage incidents, and maintain current documentation. A background in delivering complex fintech programmes with partners is required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years delivering software or technology programmes.
• At least 2 delivery programmes with external partners or vendors.
• A project unblocked where the blocker sat inside another organisation.
• Ability to challenge engineering estimates and understand integrations.
• Discipline with documentation: plans, decisions, actions written and current.
• Willingness to hold senior people to commitments they made.
• PMP, PRINCE2, or Scrum certification preferred, but project delivery counts more.

Responsibilities

• Delivery plans for cross-team programmes including banking integrations and platform migrations.
• Identify and manage critical path dependencies before they slip.
• Coordinate external parties and ensure timelines are met.
• Coordinate release readiness: UAT scheduling, sign-offs, cutover, rollback plans.
• Maintain risk and issue logs that are actually read and acted on.
• Provide concise status reports to leadership for quick action.
• Coordinate incident response when a payment rail goes down: communications and actions.

• Delivery plans for cross-team programmes: bank and acquirer integrations, card scheme certification, market launches, platform migrations
• The critical path. Spotting which dependency will slip before it slips, and knowing what it blocks.
• Coordinating external parties on their timelines, including chasing partners who do not report to us
• Release and launch readiness: UAT scheduling, sign-offs, cutover plans, rollback plans
• Risk and issue logs people actually read, and escalating early rather than reporting a miss after the fact
• Status reporting to the leadership team, written so the reader can act on it in two minutes
• Coordinating incident response when a payment rail goes down: comms, timeline, follow-up actions

Position Requirement

• 4+ years running delivery for software or technology programmes, at least 2 involving external partners or vendors
• A project you unblocked where the blocker sat inside another organisation
• Enough technical grounding to challenge an engineering estimate and understand what an integration actually involves
• Discipline with documentation. Plans, decisions, and actions written down and kept current.
• Willingness to hold senior people to commitments they made
• PMP, PRINCE2, or Scrum certification. Worth having, though we weight shipped projects higher.
