Role Summary – Manager, Integrations Engineering (Contract)
Contract Type: DEEL-based, 12-month contract with potential extension or conversion
Reports to: Kevin (Technology Leadership)
Team Size: Initially managing a team of 3 (expanding)
Seniority Level: Leadership — not a hands-on software engineer, but must understand software/system architecture
Status: Newly defined role — previously had the title, but this is the first time the role has this scope
Mission of the Role
- iPaaS platform selection and implementation (e.g. Workato, Informatica, Boomi – TBD)
- Designing and delivering integrations between critical enterprise systems (Salesforce, financial tools, HRIS, and custom apps)
- Establishing Agile, scalable ways of working across the integration layer
- Mentoring and managing a globally distributed team
Scope of Responsibility
Strategic Design & Execution
- Lead the technical and functional design of a new iPaaS-driven integration architecture
- Define integration patterns, system flows, and documentation standards
- Transition legacy or custom-built integrations to a standardized, scalable iPaaS model
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Finance, HR, and Insurance Ops
- Understand and translate business goals into integration strategies
- Collaborate on Salesforce CI/CD and integration workflows
- Build and manage a distributed team of integration engineers
- Lead performance management, hiring, and coaching
- Drive a culture of agility, service ownership, and business-focused delivery
Target Candidate Profile
Must-Haves
- Experience implementing or working heavily with iPaaS platforms
- Previous people leadership experience (min. 2 years), ideally leading integration or platform teams
- Hands-on understanding of integration design patterns, even if not writing code day-to-day
- Familiarity with tools like Salesforce, Intacct, Workday, Netsuite, ServiceNow
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills — especially with U.S.-based counterparts
- Experience in Agile or product-led environments
- Track record of driving business outcomes through integrations
Bonus/Preferred
- Background in IT systems leadership (vs. traditional software engineering management)
- Experience selecting or evaluating vendors in the iPaaS space
- Familiarity with performance metrics and KPIs for system health and team delivery
- Cross-cultural experience (e.g. leading remote teams in LATAM, EMEA)
- Depth in business impact thinking — able to articulate integration value beyond technical success
- Role can be based in either Argentina or Romania
- Initial preference may lean toward Argentina (due to existing contractors), but there’s more confidence and comfort starting in Romania
- Decision may depend on talent density and ability to attract senior ICs in the chosen region
- Comparative build-out strategy: Pie may begin hiring in both markets to evaluate quality and velocity
- Contract model: Through DEEL, 12-month term
- Compensation: No fixed band yet; will vary by region — comp should not be a blocker
- Goal: Eventually convert to FTE or extend contract based on performance and fit
