Head of Compensation & Benefits

We at Yara are part of a global network, collaborating to profitably and responsibly solve some of the world's key challenges - resource scarcity, food insecurity and environmental change.

About the Unit

The Head of Compensation & Benefits Americas leads the regional compensation and benefits agenda, combining deep technical expertise with the ability to operate effectively in a matrixed and evolving organization. The role translates global direction into practical regional solutions, establishes governance, and ensures disciplined execution across diverse markets and stakeholder groups. As a trusted partner to the VP People & Culture Americas, the role provides sound judgement, constructive challenge and hands‑on leadership on reward matters.

The role leads the Compensation & Benefits team for Brazil providing dedicated guidance and reward expertise for Brazil. While the team’s direct delivery focus is Brazil, the Head of Compensation & Benefits Americas is accountable for strategy, governance, stakeholder leadership and oversight of Compensation & Benefits across the full Americas region.

Responsibilities
Regional leadership and governance
  • Own the Compensation & Benefits agenda for the Americas, translating global frameworks and business priorities into competitive, equitable and regionally and/or locally relevant solutions.
  • Lead regional policies, annual cycles, job evaluation and reward programs, balancing consistency with market, legal and business needs.
  • Establish clear governance, decision rights and controls, and use market, pay equity and cost data to guide decisions.
Advisory and execution
  • Serve as trusted Compensation & Benefits partner to the VP People & Culture Americas and senior leaders, providing expertise, sound judgement and constructive challenge.
  • Navigate main stakeholders, competing priorities and ambiguity to build alignment, resolve obstacles and deliver outcomes.
  • Partner across People & Culture, Finance, Legal, Tax and Payroll, and represent Americas priorities in global forums and transformation initiatives.
  • Manage base salary structures and compensation frameworks and review market trends to ensure market competitiveness and internal consistency.
Team leadership and Brazil delivery
  • Lead and develop the Compensation & Benefits team, setting clear priorities and high service standards.
  • Ensure effective day‑to‑day support for Brazil while maintaining focus on the regional Americas mandate.
  • Build regional capability and manage external advisers and vendors as required.
Profile

Experience and qualifications

  • Solid professional background across compensation, incentives, benefits, job evaluation and reward governance, including deep technical expertise gained in a matrixed international organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or related fields.
  • Advanced degrees, professional certifications or recognized Compensation & Benefits qualifications are an advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a regional or multi-country agenda and translating global frameworks into practical, locally relevant solutions.
  • Proven ability to operate in a complex, matrixed and not always process‑driven environment, bringing clarity, structure and disciplined execution where ways of working are still evolving.
  • Strong track record of getting things done across multiple stakeholders, functions and geographies, including through influence rather than formal authority.
  • Sound judgement and resilience when working with ambiguity, competing priorities and incomplete information, while maintaining appropriate governance and control.
  • High credibility as a senior business partner on compensation & benefits matters, with the confidence to advise, challenge and influence executives on sensitive and complex reward matters.
  • Proven people leadership experience, including developing specialists and setting clear priorities across strategic and operational work.
  • Strong business, financial and analytical acumen, with the ability to assess cost, risk and business impact and turn complex data into clear recommendations.
  • Fluent written and spoken English. Portuguese and/or Spanish are strong advantages.
