A leading agricultural innovation firm is seeking a Brazil R&D Head in São Paulo to lead R&D teams focused on Corn and Soy Seeds. The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in Plant Breeding and extensive experience in global R&D environments. Responsibilities include defining organizational structures, managing budgets, and fostering collaboration with commercial teams. This is a full-time role requiring strong leadership, communication, and technical skills in molecular breeding and data analytics, as well as fluency in English and either Spanish or Portuguese.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead R&D teams to deliver market-leading Corn and Soy Seeds.
  • Define and build an effective organizational structure for R&D.
  • Manage operational and CAPEX budgets discipline.
  • Ensure breeding operations and trialing are most efficient, continuously optimizing unit cost.
  • Manage the operational and CAPEX budgets with discipline, accelerating genetic gain and bringing products to market faster.
  • Develop, track and act on key performance indicators to improve all R&D processes.
  • Ensure R&D goals correctly target TPPs and that pipeline structure and projects deliver on those goals.
  • Lead technical adoption of core enabling technology capabilities such as genomic selections, phenomics, data analytics and advanced breeding methods.
  • Contribute to and lead implementation of the Brazil trait‑delivery strategy for native, GM, or GE traits.
  • Align with Brazil commercial organizations on core market growth areas and ensure the corn pipeline supports commercial ambitions.
  • Partner with commercial, P&S and product management to drive infrastructure and capability investments supporting the Corn R&D strategy.
  • Actively contribute to the Seeds RDLT strategy development and execution.
  • Partner closely with global germplasm and applied teams to deliver best‑in‑class technologies and manage germplasm security concerns.
  • Work with Marketing, P&S and Commercial functions to maintain WoW processes and ensure continuity and excellence in development and delivery.

About the Role
As Brazil R&D Head, you will lead the R&D teams in Brazil, ensuring cutting‑edge research and delivery of market‑leading Corn and Soy Seeds.  You will shape technical strategy, program management, talent capability, partnering strategy and senior stakeholder relations, and you will represent R&D as a member of the Brazil Field Crops Leadership Teams.

Responsibilities
  • Define, develop, and build an effective future‑oriented organizational structure for R&D.
  • Drive professional development to maintain leading skills in modern plant breeding methods.
  • Manage people‑management processes including performance, succession planning and talent management.
  • Ensure breeding operations and trialing are most efficient, continuously optimizing unit cost.

  • Solid understanding of molecular breeding, data analytics and precision phenotyping advances.
  • Experience leading strategy in international, cross‑functional teams.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to inspire teams.
  • Experience hiring, influencing and developing talent.
  • Fluent in English and either Spanish or Portuguese.
