Wise in Brazil (São Paulo) seeks a Head of Regional Payment Operations to lead our Latin American and MEA payment teams. You will oversee 40+ professionals and own complex, scalable payment processes across currencies and schemes.

You will drive automation, ensure compliance, and collaborate with Product, Engineering, Banking, and Treasury to deliver seamless payment services globally.

Job Description

Are you ready to shape the future of payments in Latin America, Middle East & Africa and beyond?

We’re seeking a strategic and experienced Head of Regional Payment Operations to lead our teams across Latin American and Middle East & African corridors. You’ll play a key leadership role within our global Payment Operations group, directly managing senior function leads and indirectly overseeing over 40+ professionals, across multiple locations.

This role is perfect for someone with deep knowledge of payment systems, and a passion for automation, compliance, and operational scalability. You’ll work alongside Product, Engineering, Banking, Treasury, and other critical stakeholders to ensure we deliver seamless payment services to customers across the world.

What You’ll Do:

• Build, lead and grow high‑performing payment operations teams
• Ensure compliance and SLA excellence across multiple currencies and schemes
• Drive efficiency and scalability through AI, automation, and process transformation
• Partner cross‑functionally to scale our payments infrastructure

Qualifications

Must have

• 5+ years total in payments or ops leadership roles in a global environment
• Domain knowledge of payment schemes
• Experience scaling ops orgs via automation and AI
• Strong compliance and risk management awareness
• Background in financial services (FinTech, PSPs, banks)
• Excellent cross‑functional stakeholder communication

Nice‑to‑Have

• Product background or experience launching payment products
• AI/ML or automation tools experience in ops
• Technical understanding of APIs or system architecture
• Led international teams or expansion projects
