Galp in Brazil is looking for a trader focused on short-term gas portfolio execution and scheduling. You will identify market opportunities, translate trading ideas into physical gas deliveries, and drive efficient operations with customers, transporters and system operators.

You will coordinate nominations, capacity allocations and daily gas flow monitoring, while building strong relationships across Commercial, Operations and Back Office teams.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in natural gas scheduling, operations or midstream logistics (up to 5 years).
• Strong understanding of Brazilian gas transportation and logistics.
• Experience coordinating physical gas deliveries and nominations.
• Experience with transport system operators and commercial counterparties is desirable.
• Advanced Excel and operational systems proficiency.
• Strong organizational and planning skills; attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Collaborative, proactive problem-solving mindset.
• Energy sector experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Identify opportunities to maximize portfolio value through short-term trading, supply-demand balancing and optimization of gas positions.
• Execute the operational requirements arising from commercial and trading transactions.
• Coordinate transportation capacity allocation and scheduling to support portfolio optimization.
• Ensure contractual quantities, delivery windows and operational requirements are met.
• Monitor market fundamentals, gas supply-demand dynamics, pricing trends and transportation constraints to identify trading opportunities.
• Evaluate the commercial and operational feasibility of transactions, considering pricing, transportation costs, contractual flexibility and delivery constraints.
• Develop and maintain strong commercial relationships with customers, suppliers and trading counterparties.
• Maintain close coordination with Commercial, Operations and Back Office teams to ensure efficient execution.
• Resolve operational issues through proactive communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Support nominations, confirmations, transportation capacity allocation and daily gas flow monitoring
• Monitor daily gas flows and resolve operational imbalances or scheduling issues.

About your future Team:

Drive the execution of short-term natural gas trading activities within Galp's gas portfolio in Brazil, identifying and capturing market opportunities through physical gas purchase and sales transactions, while maximizing portfolio value and operational efficiency.

The role combines a strong commercial and trading focus with a solid understanding of gas scheduling and physical operations, ensuring that trading opportunities are effectively translated into reliable and efficient gas deliveries. Also, the role acts as the operational link between Commercial Origination, customers, transporters and system operators, ensuring contractual compliance, supply reliability and seamless execution of gas transactions

How will your day-to-day look like:

Portfolio Execution and Optimization:

• Identify opportunities to maximize portfolio value through short-term trading, supply-demand balancing and optimization of gas positions.
• Execute the operational requirements arising from commercial and trading transactions.
