Bluelight, a rapidly growing software consultancy, is seeking a senior backend-focused software engineer. You will build low-latency API services in AWS, design scalable RESTful interfaces, and integrate with multiple services.

A strong emphasis on secure, multi-tenant architectures and thorough testing is expected. You will work across modern tech stacks, including Node.js, TypeScript, and React, and overlap US business hours.

Formación

• 5+ years of professional software development experience (backend-focused).
• Strong experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
• Experience building low-latency API services in AWS and scalable RESTful APIs.
• Experience with SDK integrations to other services and with PostgreSQL/AuroraDB including Row-Level Security (RLS).
• Experience building secure multi-tenant environments and writing raw SQL with migrations.
• Professional experience with React, testing—incl. integration tests against real databases.

Requirements

• 5+ years professional software development experience (backend-focused)
• Strong professional experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript
• Experience building low-latency API services in AWS
• Experience building scalable RESTful APIs
• Experience with SDK integrations to other services
• Experience with PostgreSQL/AuroraDB, including Row-Level Security (RLS)
• Experience building secure multi-tenant environments
• Comfortable writing raw SQL and managing schema migrations (e.g., node-postgres, node-pg-migrate)
• Professional experience with React
• Strong testing practices, including integration tests against real databases and failure-mode/fault-injection testing
• Experience working with AI coding assistants as part of daily development
• CI/CD application creation and maintenance skills
• Solid understanding of full stack development, with the ability to contribute to frontend work when needed
• Substantial background working with large, complex systems
• Ability to overlap US business hours
• Bachelor's degree required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with append-only, event-sourced, or bitemporal data models

• Experience in compliance-sensitive or audit-heavy domains (e.g., fintech, telecom/TCPA compliance)
