Job summary

Costa Farms is seeking a maintenance technician to perform general repairs, inspect equipment, troubleshoot issues, and plan repair work using blueprints or manuals. Strong mechanical aptitude and safe handling of hand and power tools are essential.

You will maintain shop areas, order supplies, document repairs, and assist with facility upkeep. Requirements include a high school diploma (or equivalent), related experience preferred, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and working at heights with

Responsibilities

• Perform general repairs not requiring specialized tech, such as drywall, painting, and door fixes.
• Inspect and identify equipment needing repair, troubleshooting to determine necessary parts.
• Plan repair work using blueprints or manuals and request needed supplies.
• Clean and maintain shop areas, inventory parts, and document work performed.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights with proper PPE.

Job description

• Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
• Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair.
• Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs and supplies required.
• Plans repair work using building’s blueprints or equipment manual as needed.
• Request supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
• Thoroughly cleans machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling as necessary.
• Oils and lubricates moving parts on machines to ensure effective performance.
• Records and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts.
• Prepares reports documenting work performed.
• Cleans, organizes, inventories, stocks, and otherwise maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies.
• Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to follow instructions from leadership, other maintenance team workers, and any other subject matter expert.
• Knowledge of general carpentry, mechanical and plumbing repair.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and with efficiency.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
• Must be able to safely operate power industrial vehicles. (Forklift, skid steer, tractor, ect)
• Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Works well independently and with others.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment.
• Able to mentor and train operators.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Related experience preferred.
• On-the-job training offered.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting, standing, and walking.
• Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
• Must be able to visually inspect machines.
• Must be able to work inside or outside year-round.
• Must be able to work at heights of 30’with proper PPE.
