Job summary

Metso is seeking a Logistics Solution Engineer to join the Logistics Quality and Warehouse Process Assurance team in Sorocaba with hybrid work options. You will manage and develop quality, safety and optimization in packaging, storage and transportation for all business areas.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, you will collaborate across Sales, Engineering and Supply Chain to drive improvements. Required: bachelor’s degree in logistics or related field, SAP experience, and strong English

• Manage transport, storage and packaging development projects.
• Support Distribution Center Operations in warehouse process assurance.
• Provide logistics quality support to Sales, Engineering and Supply Chain teams.
• Contribute to audits, root cause analyses and preventive actions.
• Define packing materials scope for manufacturing and distribution centers.

Introduction

We are seeking a Logistics Solution Engineer to join our Logistics Quality and Warehouse Process Assurance team! In this role, you will be responsible for managing and developing quality, safety and optimization in packaging, storage and transportation for all Business Areas.

In this position, you will report to the Senior Manager, Logistics Quality and Warehouse Process Assurance.

This position is located in Sorocaba, Irapuato or Santiago, and we are happy to offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options.

What You’ll Do

• Plan, implement and develop economic, safe and sustainable packaging, storage and transportation methods for all items and transportation modes


• Drive logistics cost competitiveness through design-to-cost development in collaboration with Engineering and Supply Chain


• Prepare and maintain packaging, storage and transport guidelines and deliver related training


• Manage transport, storage and packaging-related development projects


• Support Distribution Center Operations in Warehouse Process Assurance and regional development projects


• Provide logistics quality support and consultation to stakeholders across Sales, Engineering, Project Delivery and Supply Chain


• Participate in logistics quality audits, claim handling and root cause analyses, and support corrective and preventive actions


• Plan and maintain a suitable scope of packing materials for manufacturing, distribution centers and suppliers

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree and experience in logistics, preferably within warehousing, transportation or load planning


• Experience working with suppliers and other internal and external stakeholders


• Solid understanding of logistics processes and a strong attention to detail


• Customer-oriented and result-driven mindset


• Ability to work effectively in a changing and global environment


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English


• Experience with SAP is desirable
