We are hiring an Embedded Linux Field Engineering Manager to lead a regionally-focused team of Field Engineers in Presales and Professional Services, assisting customers with solution architecture, design, and delivery.
Location: This is a remote role, managing a team in one of three geographies: Americas, EMEA, or APAC. You need to be based in one of these regions to oversee the team spanning multiple time zones.
Our IoT mission is to enable companies to build secure, connected devices. Canonical provides the Ubuntu OS and kernel, with secure update and management mechanisms. Our customers develop mission-critical control systems, gateways, and appliances requiring high security and quality. We aim to extend this security to consumer electronics and devices.
Our Field Engineers are thought leaders in solving complex problems. They are technologists passionate about embedded Linux strategy and delivery, helping customers achieve technical and business goals, and demonstrating how Canonical’s open source approach benefits emerging edge compute fields. They also develop their colleagues’ skills and understanding of technology, customer business needs, and personal growth.
This role requires a blend of skills: deep Linux knowledge, proficiency in coding and scripting, experience with low-level Linux boot, BIOS, firmware, embedded software development, and a proactive, results-driven mindset.
