KnowBe4, based in São Paulo, Brazil, is seeking an AI-focused eLearning Instructional Designer to create engaging online courses, games, simulators, and assessments for KnowBe4 customers. You will collaborate with SMEs, QA, and engineers in a fast-paced environment and apply AI-powered content creation to learning experiences.

The ideal candidate has a background in instructional design and a passion for leveraging AI to enhance pedagogy, with strong communication and adaptability.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in adult education, cybersecurity, or IT required.
• Master’s degree in instructional design or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of online instructional design experience.
• Experience creating complex assessment items for formative and summative purposes.

The eLearning Instructional Designer will work on exciting online learning solutions (courses, games, simulators and assessments) for KnowBe4’s customers. While you need to understand reasonable software security practices, you do not need to have a background in information security. Just be a creative instructional designer, bring new ideas to the table, and ship learning activities to the LMS! The ideal candidate should be an AI enthusiast with a passion for leveraging artificial intelligence to transform learning experiences. You will work together with other eLearning developers, QA and engineers in a fast-paced environment, working with SMEs and the entire team (graphics, Q/A course builders, and leadership) to help build and integrate eLearning assets.

Our highly collaborative teams rapidly release courseware in an environment where innovation is applauded and minimizing distractions from real work are top priority.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop comprehensive eLearning content (courses, games, simulators and assessments) using AI tools for content generation, visualization, and interactivity to integrate with the Learning Management System (LMS)
• Implement online andragogy, instructional design, and adult learning principles while leveraging AI capabilities to enhance content creation and delivery
• Utilize AI writing tools (like KnowBe4 AIPortal, ChatGPT, Claude) to draft course scripts, scenarios, assessments, and learning activities
• Practice effective interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work with different levels within the organization, to build relationships, to actively listen, and to assist team members and/or subject matter experts (SME) in translating concepts (including AI-generated content) into engaging, effective online courses.
• Develop storyboards in a standard format that strategically incorporate AI-created content components and respond promptly to feedback from Q/A and leadership
• Use AI tools to assist in developing sound knowledge checks for formative assessment, as well as strong summative assessments
• Stay current with emerging AI technologies relevant to eLearning development
• Possess effective communication skills: written (including editing and proof-reading), verbal, and presentation (including visuals), including the ability to articulate how AI enhances instructional content
• Possess the ability and experience to effectively utilize the required technology tools (MS Word, Gmail, Basic HTML/JavaScript) alongside AI content creation tools and platforms
• Evaluate AI-generated content for quality, accuracy, and alignment with learning objectives that abide by copyright and intellectual property considerations before integration into courses
• Document best practices; research and recommend improvements to AI content creation workflows to enhance quality and efficiency
• Create templates and frameworks that can be consistently applied when using AI writing tools and assist publishers in utilising them

Requirements

• B.A. or B.S in Adult Education, Cybersecurity, Information Technology (or comparable work experience) required
• M.S. or M.A. or M.Ed. in Instructional Design or Instructional Technology (or comparable work experience) preferred
• Minimum 2 years experience with the instructional design best practices (storyboard development for online)
• Minimum 2 years experience with created complex assessment items for formative and summative purposes
• Minimum 2 years experience with making engaging and interesting online courseware (preferably in a corporate environment)
• Experience with Web Accessibility Standards (Section 508 & WCAG 2.1)
• Experience with learning solutions for iOS, iBooks, Android, and other interactive media/mobile platforms and programming
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in learning/online learning
• Creative problem-solving, adaptability, and willingness to learn new AI tools
• Experience with AI tools (ie...ElevenLabs, Google Veo 3, HeyGen, Synthesia Midjourney AI, RunwayML,ect.)
• Ability to balance efficiency of AI tools with pedagogical effectiveness
• Critical thinking to evaluate AI outputs for educational appropriateness
