The International School of Curitiba seeks a motivated ECC Intern to support our youngest learners in a multicultural school environment.

You will observe and assist in early childhood development, social-emotional growth, play, and learning, under the guidance of experienced educators and a supportive team. This internship is mediated through CIEE with an active CIEE registration, located on campus in Curitiba.

The International School of Curitiba (ISC) is seeking a motivated and caring Intern to join our Early Childhood Center (ECC) team. This is a unique opportunity for a university student to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, multicultural school environment while learning alongside experienced educators and student support professionals.

As an ECC Intern, you will support our youngest learners throughout their daily school experience, gaining practical experience in early childhood development, social-emotional development, relationships, play, and learning. You will have the opportunity to observe and learn how young children develop, communicate, interact, and build independence in an educational setting.

This internship is designed for students who are interested in early childhood education, child development, psychology, pedagogy, or student wellbeing and are looking to develop practical experience working with young children.

Please note that all ISC internships are mediated through CIEE, and candidates must have an active CIEE registration (cadastro ativo) in order to be considered.

Responsabilidades e atribuições

• Support ECC teachers and staff in the daily care, learning, and development of young children.
• Assist with classroom routines, transitions, activities, and play-based learning experiences.
• Support children during arrival, meals, outdoor play, transitions, and other daily routines, always under the guidance of the teaching team.
• Observe children's interactions, behaviors, communication, and developmental milestones under the guidance of qualified professionals.
• Assist with activities that encourage social-emotional development, communication, independence, cooperation, and positive relationships.
• Help prepare and organize classroom materials, resources, and activities.
• Encourage children's participation in age-appropriate activities while respecting their individual needs, interests, and developmental stages.
• Support teachers in maintaining a safe, welcoming, inclusive, and nurturing environment.
• Collaborate with teachers and other ECC team members to support children's overall school experience.
• Assist with school events, projects, and activities related to early childhood development, belonging, and community.
• Support the preparation or adaptation of materials in English and Portuguese, when needed.
• Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and respect for children's privacy when handling sensitive information.

Requisitos e qualificações

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate Psychology, Language (Letras) or Pedagogy program.
• Genuine interest in early childhood development and working with young children.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Empathy, patience, active listening, and a willingness to learn.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other members of a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to follow guidance, routines, and school procedures responsibly.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
