How will you make an impact in this role?

As the New Business Development Director, you will play a pivotal role in driving the strategic growth of American Express in Brazil. You will identify new business opportunities, forge strategic partnerships, and craft innovative strategies to enhance market presence and revenues. With a deep understanding of the Brazilian market and payments landscape, you will collaborate across departments to ensure alignment and execution of growth strategies

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies to grow American Express’ presence in Brazil, aligned with company goals and guidelines.
  • Build and manage the relationship with Issuers, Processors and other industry stakeholders.
  • Negotiate and finalize agreements with partners to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other teams to align efforts with growth goals.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience of at least 15 years in Sales and Business Development.
  • At least 10 years in Payments Industry.
  • At least 5 years on Issuing background.
  • Proven ability to turn strategies into feasible plans to drive results.
  • Highly resilient, able to drive results in challenging business environment
  • Consultative selling skills.
  • Self-leadership, maturity, flexibility and patience to respond to dynamic work environment and ever-changing business needs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with corporate clients (Decision Makers, Financial Controllers, Accountants, etc.)
  • Highly results driven and customer oriented.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills, including experience working closely with internal stakeholders and ability to influence all levels.
  • English speaker is mandatory.
