Join Our Team as a Senior Backend Engineer (Python)

We are seeking a skilled Senior Backend Engineer (Python) to join our dynamic team working on innovative AI-powered solutions for industrial manufacturing. Your role will involve designing and implementing core business logic for user-facing applications that assist plant engineers and operators in managing complex processes, reducing energy waste, and lowering carbon footprints.

You will collaborate with data infrastructure engineers, AI specialists, and front-end developers to deliver comprehensive solutions, from prototypes to production systems. This is a small, fast-moving team offering broad ownership and opportunities to contribute across the stack, including infrastructure, data pipelines, and front-end development.

Expectations - the experience you need

1. 10+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 3 years focused on Python backend systems.
2. Proven experience building backend services with complex business logic, state management, data modeling, and lifecycle orchestration.
3. Strong knowledge of SQL, relational databases (e.g., Postgres), schema design, and data workflows.
4. Solid fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, and design patterns.
5. Experience with RESTful APIs (and/or GraphQL) and system integration.
6. Experience with testing practices and CI/CD pipelines.
7. Ability to work independently in a dynamic, startup environment with excellent communication skills.

Nice to have

• Contributions to open-source projects.
• Experience with data visualization backends, dashboards, and analytics.
• Familiarity with Docker, cloud platforms (GCP preferred), and scalable development processes.
• Knowledge of data lifecycle management and data integrity practices.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Full-stack experience with frameworks like React, Next.js, Typescript.
• Experience with event-driven architectures or message queues.
