Qualificações

Job description summary:

This role primarily deals with part development and end to end quality management for large weldments including truck bodies, making sure the manufacturing standards are in place at the supplier to meet the end customer requirement. New Product Introduction (NPI), Continuous Product Improvement (CPI), and New Source Introduction (NSI) related activities by collaborating with suppliers, design control engineers, value chain engineering, and procurement category teams are expected job deliverables.

What you will do:

• Managing Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Quality management related activities from concept to PPAP to deliver parts at the right quality, total cost, while meeting timelines and end customer requirements. The candidate accomplishes this through collaboration with various functional areas like packaging, transportation, business resources, supply chain, etc.
• Be a trusted quality expert who translates Caterpillar drawing requirements and technical specifications to the shopfloor requirements and works with the supplier by training and monitoring to achieve the desired quality output in process and product.
• Implementing product supply strategies aligned with the category management supply strategies that will create a competitive advantage for our customers by developing, optimizing and integrating a world-class supply network.
• Managing the quality feedback loops to ensure lessons learned on quality defects are applied across the supply base. Being a single point of contact for quality management, improvement and governance by close supplier collaboration, training and execution of actions at supplier and working with supplier personnel and management.
• Driving Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VAVE) through cost modeling, design for manufacturability, and leveraging suppliers’ capabilities.
• Supplier identification, selection, audit, training and part development by imparting Cat quality standards in the supply base.

What you will have:

• Problem Solving: quality tools, problem solving techniques, root cause analysis and corrective action, data-driven decision making and associated tools and techniques; ability to gather and analyze data to make organizational decisions that align with strategic business objectives and goals towards quality improvement and customer complaint elimination.
• Supplier Management - MFG: Knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components; ability to apply related knowledge, experience and skills into real practice.
• Strategic Sourcing: Knowledge of strategic sourcing methods, technologies, and processes, including supplier identification, selection, training, and onboarding. Strong project governance and execution skills.

Basic requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Pre-advanced English.
• Pre-advanced Spanish.

Top candidates will also have:

• Advanced Spanish.
• Welding certifications like AWS CWI or equivalent.
