Position: Analyst - Accounts Receivable / Demurrage & Detention

Job Purpose: This role plays a key part in ensuring the efficient management of our Accounts Receivable and Demurrage & Detention (D&D) processes, such as analyzing financial data, resolving customer inquiries, and identifying areas for improvement in our billing and collection processes.

Main responsibilities and assignments:

• Analyze Demurrage and Detention (D&D) and freight claims submitted by customers.
• Ensure proper application of D&D charges according to contracts and industry regulations.
• Calculate and collect D&D fees owed by customers.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in D&D claims.
• Maintain accurate records of D&D activity.
• Identify trends and opportunities for optimizing D&D revenue.
• Research and stay current on industry best practices related to Accounts Receivable and D&D management.
• Bill freight and D&D charges, adopting strategies to avoid billing errors.
• Conduct credit processes (application and control).
• Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Monitor and reconcile collection portfolios.
• Manage customer requests and coordinate actions with responsible parties.
• Ensure information is kept updated in our systems.
• Analyze internal data to correct possible errors for our customers.

Specific knowledge:

• Accounts Receivable
• Advanced English proficiency is mandatory
• SAP
• Working knowledge of International Commercial Terms (Incoterms) is a plus.

Minimum required experience:

• 4-8 years of experience in a similar role within the shipping industry.

Degree:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, international trade, or a related field.
