Job summary

Blacksmith Agency is seeking a senior Design Systems Lead to own how client design systems are built. You will extract patterns from brands and reference sites into a scalable system of tokens, variables, modes, and core components that a build pipeline can execute without asking you questions.

Precision is the job. This is a senior, systems-first seat; you stand up new systems fast and get them right the first time across several client brands at once, with strong English and overlap with US

Qualifications

• 4+ years designing for the web with real design system work in your portfolio.
• Fluency in Figma variables, component properties, auto layout and variants; real architecture beyond tidy files.
• A portfolio showing work across different clients with consistent underlying rigor.
• Strong English and overlap with US business hours.

Responsibilities

• Build token architecture in Figma using variables, modes and semantic naming our pipeline can read predictably.
• Ship core component libraries that hold up across an entire site, not just a homepage.
• Document the system so a developer or automated pipeline can execute it without questions.
• Work across several client brands at once, each looking distinctly different, with the same structural rigor.
