We are seeking a Demi Chef to join our renowned team at Novotel Sydney Darling Harbour / The Ternary Restaurant, one of Sydney’s top restaurants. Offering a unique culinary experience, we combine flavors from our grill, wok, and bar, all while providing stunning views of the Sydney skyline. This role is available in Full-Time, Part-Time, and Casual capacities.

Job Description
  1. Assist Head Chef and Sous Chef with menu preparation and ensuring adequate supplies are available for expected service.
  2. Maintain excellent presentation standards and cost control for all food and beverage outlets.
  3. Assist with the implementation and maintenance of programs to ensure high standards of cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen and related outlets.
  4. Be a leader for the team by setting a positive example.
  5. Supervise the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef and Sous Chefs. Delegate duties and responsibilities to kitchen employees to ensure service demands are met.
Qualifications
  1. Leadership experience within a professional kitchen environment.
  2. Demonstrated experience with dietary requirements and creating menus to suit those needs.
  3. Strong knowledge of food hygiene, HACCP management, and compliance with local health and safety regulations.
  4. A Food Safety Supervisor certificate is preferred.
  5. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  6. Creative culinary mind, up to date on local and international food trends.
  7. Ability to work closely with suppliers to source the best quality products.
  8. High levels of organization and time management skills.
  9. Leadership invested in staff development, culture, and productivity.
