Job Purpose:

Performs operational database administration and implements moderately complex database changes across multiple database management systems (DBMS). Designs optimizations and project-related changes for at least one DBMS. Uses common tools to monitor performance and security, and implements query and database optimizations using commands, tools, and custom scripts. Ensures security patches and standards are applied. Supports high availability and performance of critical database applications, with assistance from senior engineers. Trains Associate Database Engineers.

Responsibilities:

1. Configure and maintain database servers and processes. Monitor system health and performance. Ensure high performance, availability, security, and sustainability. (25%)

2. Assist developers, engineers, and project teams with application implementation involving database components. (25%)

3. Develop, automate, and document processes such as ETL, system jobs, and scripts. Track issues and document changes. (10%)

4. Assist with query tuning, schema refinement, and integration issues. (10%)

5. Support ad hoc data requests, reporting, and data sharing with third parties. (10%)

6. Analyze and resolve issues in real time; suggest solutions. (10%)

7. Perform scheduled maintenance, support release deployment, and provide 24x7 support for critical systems. (10%)

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.

• Certifications related to MySQL, MS SQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB, DB2, HANA, and at least one additional technical certification.

• Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.

• Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and build effective relationships.

• Quick learner with advanced computer application skills.

Working Conditions:

• Possible overtime and non-standard hours as needed.

• On-call availability required.

• Office environment with some travel.
