Datacenter Operations - Receives guidance and supervision to understand standard processes for preparing, installing, diagnosing, troubleshooting, replacing, and decommissioning IT datacenter technology and equipment. - Develops a fundamental understanding of cabling infrastructure, network, server, and storage equipment interactions. - Reviews Process Change Notifications (PCNs) to understand their impact on work execution and communicates with experienced technicians or management about process changes. - Complies with policies, procedures, and deadlines, escalating issues related to compliance or operational activities. - Completes assigned tickets efficiently, seeking guidance on challenging issues. Service Delivery - Understands execution strategies for tasks, prepares and performs hardware startups/shutdowns following provided instructions. - Learns post-deployment verification procedures and escalates errors in deployment standards. - Performs diagnostics and troubleshooting with guidance, replacing faulty components with minimal disruption. - Reports and escalates incidents, participating in follow-up actions. - Performs decommissions, simple changes, and manages data-bearing devices for destruction under guidance. Managing Service - Escalates or seeks guidance on client interactions. - Monitors KPIs and supports cross-functional processes. - Completes training and gains on-the-job experience. Datacenter Work Environment - Participates in safety briefings, completes safety and security training, and follows safety protocols. - Contributes to a safety-conscious culture. - Escorts vendors and reports security concerns. - Promotes team collaboration and effective communication. Physical Requirements - Occasional ladder climbing, frequent stairs/ramps, prolonged standing. - Occasional lifting and pushing/pulling with assistive devices. - Visual acuity and color vision requirements. Required/Minimum Qualifications - High school diploma, GED, or equivalent, with basic computer hardware knowledge OR equivalent experience. Additional or Preferred Qualifications - 1+ year supporting IT equipment or related technology. - Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Server+, Network+; Basic Structure Cabling (BSC).
