The Role

Application Services Solution Design & Architecture

• Design and architect scalable, secure, and efficient application solutions tailored to meet client business needs.
• Develop high-level architectural designs, including system integration, data flow, and user experience considerations.
• Define the overall solution architecture, including software, hardware, cloud, and third-party service integrations.

Technical Leadership & Guidance

• Provide technical direction to development and delivery teams, ensuring alignment with the defined architecture.
• Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for application design and development best practices.
• Mentor and guide junior architects and developers on technical challenges, helping them to solve complex problems.

Requirements Analysis & Technical Specifications

• Collaborate with business stakeholders & Senior Application Services Consultant to gather and analyze functional and non-functional requirements.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and architectural blueprints.
• Ensure that all technical requirements (e.g., performance, security, scalability, compliance) are met in the solution design.

Solution Competitiveness & Value Differentiation

• Design solutions that leverage unique capabilities or specialized technologies to offer a competitive edge in the market.
• Collaborate with account teams to identify key value propositions that set the solution apart from competitors.
• Ensure solutions are cost-effective, while still providing innovation and unique functionalities that meet client needs in ways competitors cannot.

Performance Optimization & Scalability

• Ensure that the application solution architecture supports performance, scalability, and high availability in line with business needs.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and propose solutions for optimization, both in terms of code and infrastructure.
• Design solutions that can scale effectively as business demands increase, ensuring cost-effectiveness while maintaining performance.

Technology Evaluation & Innovation

• Continuously evaluate emerging technologies, platforms, and tools to enhance the solution offering.
• Research industry trends and provide strategic insights on leveraging new technologies to improve application services.
• Champion innovation within the organization and propose new technological solutions that improve operational efficiency and business value.

Required Skills and Experience

• Many years of professional experience in technical pre-sales with a focus on SAP S/4HANA Implementations and upgrades on functional domains like Sales and Distribution (SAP SD), Financial Accounting and Controlling (SAP FICO), Material Management (SAP MM) or Production Planning (SAP PP).
• This position requires applicants to demonstrate a track record of technical application integration, interfaces definitions & integration, in-depth knowledge of upgrade & conversions technical strategies and tools leveraged.
• Selective data migrations to S/4HANA concepts & tooling accelerators knowledge.
• Expertise of ABAP code development & ABAP development team management.
• Very good presentation and communication skills. Strong skills in English. Ability to negotiate.
• Ability to work in virtual or distributed teams around the world. Experience of Global Integrated Delivery, with near & offshore teams. Ability to travel.
• Capability to build and configure demo/PoC systems & integrations.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Business process transformation analysis and mining to support the S/4HANA overall project.
• SAP infrastructure on Cloud. Experience with at least one hyperscale (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience of SAP RISE – S/4HANA PCE standard delivery services (TMS).
• Practice of S/4HANA “clean core” approach with BTP. Knowledge of SAP automation/DevOps.
• SAP Analytics Cloud (integration and development, along with S/4HANA).
• SAP BW to SAP Datasphere transformations.
• SAP PI/PO to SAP BTP Integration Suite transformations, or Integration Suite implementations.
• SAP BTP Low code / No code development. SAP Build extensions.
