As the Automation & Control System Engineer at HMH, you will design and develop advanced control solutions for cutting‑edge equipment and systems within the oil and gas industry. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, supporting the reliability, innovation, and enhancement of our digital technology portfolio.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and implement software solutions for HMH control systems and products.
- Ensure seamless integration of solutions with other products and systems.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation and diligently manage software deliverables.
- Collaborate closely with the aftermarket team to support our installed base.
- Uphold HMH’s vision, values, strategies, policies, and standards in all professional activities.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation & Control Systems, Computer, Mechatronics, or a related field.
Experience:
- Demonstrated proficiency in HMI software (e.g., WinCC, Cimplicity)
- Programming languages (e.g., VBA, C++, C#)
- Siemens PLC platforms using Simatic Classic / TIA Portal and DasyLab.
- PLC languages: FEB, STL, SCL, and other Structural Language.
- Industrial Networks: Profinet, Ethernet, Profibus, Modbus.
- Process and/or machine control systems in an industrial environment.
- Application within the oil and gas industry, particularly offshore drilling equipment, and pressure control systems.
- SCADA systems.
- Database management (e.g., SQL).
- Instrumentation and electrical circuits (preferred).

- Strong analytical and effective communication skills (English and Portuguese).
- Proven ability to collaborate and thrive within cross-disciplinary teams.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and dedicated to delivering reliable, high-quality solutions.
