FM is currently seeking an Engineer with process or loss prevention experience within the Chemical industry to join our South American Engineering Team. When not in the field, you will work remotely from your home office.

As a Consultant Engineer, leverage your engineering background to help clients neutralize potential disasters—saving property and businesses. With nearly two centuries of knowledge and experience, you'll work with some of the world's most influential organizations, helping them understand risk and protect their assets.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate the integrity and reliability of equipment, identify hazards and deficiencies, and deliver risk improvement solutions.
• Use operating standards, data sheets, and guides to provide risk guidance and implement best practices.
• Prepare engineering reports and loss expectancies to support risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with Operations Engineering, Client Services, Account Management, and Underwriting on Boiler & Machinery recommendations.
• Manage time effectively and work independently from a home office setting.
• Travel to large industrial client sites to evaluate operations, identify risks, and hazards. Expected overnight travel is 75 to 100 nights per year.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, or chemical engineering.
• At least 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Based in the Sao Paulo area.
• Experience in high-hazard industries, preferably in Chemical.
• Understanding of machinery and equipment with hands-on exposure.
• Strong communication skills in English; proficiency in Portuguese is preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Analytical, organized, and problem-solving skills.
• Results-driven with self-learning capabilities.
• Valid B1/B2 USA visa is desirable.
