About the Role
The Commercial Manager, Americas will be responsible for driving the commercial performance and execution of Pharmanovia's product portfolio across the USA, Canada, Caribbean and Latin American markets. Reporting to the Head of Americas, CEE & CIS, you will help deliver agreed revenue, sales, and profitability objectives across the region and identify and develop new opportunities for sustainable business growth. The Commercial Manager will manage and develop relationships with distributors, commercial partners, and other key stakeholders, ensuring effective sales execution across multiple channels, including wholesalers, pharmacy chains, hospitals, tenders, and other public and private sector channels. The role will combine commercial strategy, sales execution, partner management, business development, financial performance management and market intelligence, requiring an individual who is commercially astute, entrepreneurial and comfortable operating across multiple international markets. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure strong strategic alignment, accurate forecasting, effective execution, and delivery of Pharmanovia's commercial objectives. The role requires a pragmatic, hands‑on, and results‑driven commercial professional who is comfortable working autonomously, making commercially informed decisions, and taking ownership of delivering results while maintaining the highest standards of compliance and business conduct.
Responsibilities
- Primary responsibility is managing commercial activities across Canada, the US and the Caribbean, while supporting the Brazil and Mexico Country Managers.
- Review the benefits section, as the company pension scheme and life insurance are not currently provided (unless this has changed now). Knowing the Brazilian market, those adjustments would be important
- Develop and execute effective commercial and sales strategies across the region, translating regional and global business objectives into clear and actionable market plans.
- Maximise growth opportunities across the Americas by identifying new products, markets, customers, channels, partnerships, and commercial initiatives that can deliver sustainable organic growth.
- Manage and develop Pharmanovia's relationships with distributors, commercial partners and other external stakeholders, ensuring strong, sustainable and profitable partnerships.
- Follow up on and monitor secondary sales, promotional activities, and market performance across wholesalers, pharmacy chains, hospitals, tenders, and other relevant commercial channels.
- Build strong relationships and personal networks across the region so Pharmanovia can access and maximise the right sales channels.
- Maintain a detailed understanding of the pharmaceutical markets across the USA, Canada, the Caribbean, and LATAM, including market dynamics, economic indicators, customer requirements, competitor activity, trends, and emerging opportunities.
- Identify, propose and implement innovative commercial initiatives to increase sales, improve market penetration and maximise the value of Pharmanovia's established product portfolio.
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, including potential new products, launches, commercial partnerships and alternative routes to market.
- Support regional business planning and budgeting, including sales volume, revenue, profitability and other key commercial assumptions.
- Take ownership of accurate commercial forecasting and reporting, ensuring reliable information is provided by external partners and internal stakeholders.
- Monitor partner performance against agreed commercial objectives, identifying risks, opportunities and corrective actions required to improve performance.
- Ensure effective sales process management across the region, including monitoring performance against agreed targets, forecasts and business plans.
- Analyse commercial and financial information to understand performance, identify trends and support informed business decisions.
- Manage and monitor the relevant commercial P&L, maintaining strong financial awareness and focus on revenue growth and profitability.
- Ensure commercial plans and partner activities are aligned with Pharmanovia's overall strategy, priorities and financial objectives.
- Maintain appropriate service levels for key stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and timely resolution of commercial issues.
- Negotiate commercial agreements and business terms with external partners to maximise value for Pharmanovia while building sustainable long‑term relationships.
- Lead commercial discussions and negotiations with distributors, customers and partners, ensuring agreed terms support both revenue growth and profitability.
- Build effective relationships with wholesalers, retailers, pharmacy chains, hospitals, tender organisations, Key Opinion Leaders, prescribers and other relevant stakeholders.
- Work closely with internal Commercial, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, Regulatory, Quality, Medical and other functions to ensure effective end‑to‑end commercial execution.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 5-10 years' proven commercial and sales experience within the pharmaceutical industry, with a strong track record of delivering sales, revenue and profitability results.
- Fluent English; Spanish proficiency (native-level) highly desirable given the LATAM scope.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience, ideally in Business, Marketing, Economics, Life Sciences or a related discipline
- Proven experience in developing and executing pharmaceutical commercial and sales strategies, ideally involving mature, established, off‑patent, branded, generic, or speciality pharmaceutical products.
- Strong experience managing distributors, commercial partners, and key accounts across international pharmaceutical markets, with the ability to build sustainable, profitable partnerships.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical markets across the Americas, particularly LATAM, with an understanding of market dynamics, customer requirements, competition and routes to market.
- Demonstrable experience managing a sales P&L, with strong understanding of revenue, profitability, pricing, volume, forecasting and financial performance.
- Proven ability to identify and deliver new business and organic growth opportunities, including new products, markets, customers, channels and partnerships.
- Strong experience managing pharmaceutical sales across multiple public- and private‑sector channels, including wholesalers, pharmacy chains, hospitals, and tenders.
- Excellent commercial negotiation and influencing skills, with a proven ability to negotiate agreements and achieve mutually beneficial commercial outcomes.
