Job summary

Umicore Group, through its Metal Deposition Solutions, is seeking a Process Engineer to lead development and industrialization efforts in the chemical processing domain at its São Paulo area operations. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and collaboration across teams to deliver high-quality outputs.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Industrial Chemistry, practical experience in process development or production within the chemical industry, and familiarity

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Industrial Chemistry.
• Intermediate English proficiency.
• Experience in process development or production within the chemical industry—ideally in electroplating or refining sectors.
• Experience with process safety in chemical plants, including knowledge of risk assessment techniques such as HAZOP, SWIFT, etc.
• Knowledge of quality control techniques.
• Green Belt certification is desirable.
• Experience with technology transfer and the commissioning of processes/facilities is desirable.
• Experience with integrated management systems, preferably SAP.

• Owns complex tasks in process engineering, safety standards, producing accurate outputs and identifying risks or anomalies proactively.
• Analyzes problems, recommends options, and implements improvements in methods, tools, or data flows.
• Collaborates with adjacent teams and stakeholders, communicating insights and recommendations clearly.
• Collaborates cross-functionally to deliver high-quality outcomes and knowledge sharing.
• Contributes to continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process enhancements.
