Business Segment Controller Global - Mining

We are seeking a Business Segment Controller to join our Mining segment. In this role, you will serve as a key financial business partner for segment leadership, combining strategic thinking with operational finance expertise to drive business performance.

Responsibilities

1. Reporting to the BU Controller and being a true business partner to the Business Segment Head as a dotted line report.
2. Constructively challenging the Segment Head, driving performance, setting financial and operational KPIs, and being co-responsible for the financial results of the Mining segment.
3. Contributing to the development and execution of the segment's growth strategy.
4. Ensuring accountability for the finance activities of the segment and maintaining a 'best in class' controlling infrastructure.
5. Managing financial issues including price and margin management, risk management, OPEX control, segment-related M&A projects, and Net Working Capital optimizations.
6. Acting as Regional Partner for controlling topics within the BU.
7. Participating actively in the global BU Controlling team, initiating improvements to increase team performance, cooperation, and effectiveness.

Requirements

1. Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5–7 years in financial controlling or finance roles within a complex matrix organization.
3. Experience in M&A activities (including target screening, financial due diligence, deal modeling, and transaction structuring) is advantageous.
4. Proficiency with SAP BW, Excel, and Power BI.
5. Ability to simplify, clarify, and improve decision-making processes in a large-scale business, streamlining systems and procedures.
6. Advanced proficiency in Portuguese and English; Spanish is a plus.
