This leadership role requires clear editorial vision, excellent news judgment, and the ability to manage risk in a fast-moving, multimedia newsroom while upholding safety and integrity.

Qualificações

• Strong leadership and people management skills with track record coaching journalists.
• Excellent news judgment, story framing, and audience understanding.
• Fluent Portuguese and English; deep knowledge of Brazil's politics and economy.

As a powerhouse producer of energy, minerals, and agricultural commodities with a dynamic tech sector and vast biomes under threat, Brazil sits at the confluence of geopolitical crosswinds and increasingly polarized domestic debate. This role requires a newsroom leader who will set editorial ambitions on these and other stories while managing a team of beat reporters in Brasilia, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, where the job is based. The Bureau Chief plays a vital role in maintaining editorial quality, operational safety, and strategic alignment with broader regional and global goals. This is a leadership position requiring clear editorial vision, excellent news judgment, and proven management experience.

• Fluent Portuguese and English and a strong grasp of Brazil's politics, economics, and key industries
• Commitment to journalistic standards, safety, and integrity, and the ability to manage risk in high-pressure environments
• Ability to work across editorial formats and lead in a multimedia newsroom
